Bei allen fünf Meldungen hatten sich die betroffenen Personen auch die Finger so verletzt, dass sie medizinisch versorgt werden mussten. Die gemeldeten Vorfälle ereigneten sich in Finnland, Deutschland, USA, Dänemark und in Australien.”

Nach den Meldungen der Kunden hat IKEA nach eigener Aussage das Design überarbeitet, um das Risiko von Verletzungen zu reduzieren. Die neue, sichere Variante sei ab Februar in den Möbelhäusern erhältlich. Kunden können den Stuhl auch ohne Quittung zurückgeben.
